Research Interests: Summary
My primary interest is in human-computer interaction. In my research, I focus on the interaction aspect, by studying the way the mappings between the physicality and the underlying functionality work, and by looking from the design and cognitive understanding point of view. What makes our interaction with today's electronic/computing appliances natural can help us in identifying the visceral qualities that lie in physical devices or artefacts, and unleash the natural ways we, as humans, use our innate abilities when manipulating devices. The findings can be used to inform next generation interfaces, i.e. the design of tangible interaction. |
