Research Interests:

Augmenting observation with visualisations of automatically logged data can facilitate the evaluation and redevelopment of ubiquitous computing systems.

Summary

Academic: Beginning as a summer student at the end of my degree and working on the seamful game, I have been assimilated into the Equator collective, finding my niche building connections between creatures of a purely technical nature, and their mortal enemies the social scientists. My work involves the instrumentation of code to automate the process of log creation, and the subsequent collection, collation and visualisation of the data. These visualisations aid understanding of program state, thus aiding evaluation and also facilitate debugging and redevelopment, as they can be connected directly to the code which created them though the Visual Studio IDE.

Other interests: Looking at my list of interests, it would appear that I have meandered into the murky territories of geekdom. I get a curious pleasure from hacking code; I enjoy dubiously dubbed martial arts movies; I read fantasy novels; play the guitar and cap it off by attempting to register my hifi on the Richter scale.
