Will Seager

Will Seager

Research Interests:

User interface design for pedestrian navigation devices

Summary

Will Seager undertook his Equator-funded PhD at the Mixed Reality Laboratory in the University of Nottingham. His PhD research was concerned with a number of HCI issues relating to the use of mobile map-based applications by pedestrians. Much of his research focused on ways to enable track-up map alignment on mobile devices. Other topics include user responses to positioning information and the effect of different map display formats on cognitive mapping. His Equator project involvement included an examination of the self-reported positioning system in “Uncle Roy is All Around”.

In 2006, Will joined the User Centred Systems Group at University College London as a Research Fellow. He is currently investigating interactive television as part of an EU-funded project called UNIC.
