The University of Nottingham
The Equator team brings together leading researchers
from Computer Science, Engineering, Ergonomics and Psychology to research Mixed Reality - new technologies that merge the physical and digital worlds.

We are based within a state-of-the-art research centre known as the Mixed Reality Laboratory (MRL) which acts as host for many of the Equator activities. The MRL is focused on the development and application of mixed reality in all areas of everyday life - learning, playing, working, exploring and understanding.
The MRL acts as the coordinating site for Equator and provides a focus for much of its work. We are involved in all of the experience projects playing a leading role in Citywide, Domestic, eScience. We have provided infrastructure support through the development of Equip and the ammendment of a GT3 Infrastructure. We have built a range of devices including the augurscope and torch tracking. We have developed a number of conceptual treatments including domestic ethnography, Brand and sense and sensibility. This has been complemented by methodological explorations across all of equator's work.
