Research Interests: Summary
For my MSc project I developed a toolkit that enables rapid reconstruction of simple shapes from single images. By placing and aligning primitive shapes over an image, a user may quickly construct an imaged scene. The project also included a demonstration application which asks a user to model cubed shapes in an imaged scene. Once the cubed shapes are correctly aligned, the demo augments virtual bouncing balls and water, which interact with the cubed objects in the imaged scene. There are many applications of this type of technology, from satellite photographic reconstruction of urban scenes through to modelling for augmentation in a mixed reality system. I have since continued research into other methods and applications, and am interested in the automation of the modelling processes. |
