Research Interests: Summary
My research interests are concerned with device interoperability in smart environments. More specifically, I am studying the issues involved in the progressive smart environment whose functionality evolves as new devices are introduced to it. Problem areas of particular interest to me are: generic and flexible descriptions of device capabilities, knowledge sharing amongst devices and automatic or semi-automatic composition of device functions. My Ph.D. work approaches the problem of evolving functionality as one of service composition and workflow optimization. Currently I am experimenting with semantic service descriptions in order to ascertain how they can facilitate service composition based on generic workflow templates. |
