Walterio Mayol-Cuevas
Research Interests: Summary
Dr Walterio Mayol-Cuevas is a Lecturer at the Computer Science Department University of Bristol, joining in September 2004. Before this, he worked towards his DPhil at the Robotics Research Group of the University of Oxford with whom he keeps close links, and from where he graduated in 2005. He gained his BSc from the National University of Mexico in 1999 and was a visiting researcher at the National Institute of Advanced Industrial Science and Technology (AIST) in Tsukuba Japan from October to December 2003. His work concerns three related topics: robotics, wearable computing and computer vision. Dr Mayol-Cuevas is the co-leader of the robotics and autonomous systems faculty research theme and a founding member of the Bristol Robotics Laboratory. He has been invited to give a number of technical seminars about his work in Europe, Japan and Mexico and regularly reviews for main conferences and journals in the three areas of his research. He has organized a couple of workshops and tutorials on wearable vision and robotics which include public engagement activities. |
